Australian Legal Support Services (ALSS) opened its doors in May 2005, with a clear vision to provide market-leading solutions to Australia’s legal and commercial businesses communities.
We specialise in the areas of process serving, skip tracing and field services. We currently have 25 licensed process servers carrying out assignments in the Sydney metropolitan area and throughout New South Wales in addition to a national network of operatives based in each capital city of Australia.
Under the Directorship of Cale Thurston, we have established and maintained successful relationships with a number of leading companies across a variety of industry sectors, including legal, banking, finance, telecommunications, insurance and public utilities.

Director – Cale Thurston
Cale has more than 15 years’ experience in the process serving and private investigation industry. Cale managed Briefserv & Urgent Summons Service (USS) for four years prior to the merger with Credit Corp and Wise McGrath. Following the merger, he saw an opportunity to develop a business built on a dynamic and personalised service offering, and in 2005 formed ALSS. Cale holds a Certificate III in Financial Services, Certificate III in Commercial Agency Practice & Certificate III Private Inquiry Agency Practice.
Consultant – Brian Savage
Brian has worked in the collections industry as a senior management consultant for more than 15 years. With specialist skills in operational risk and compliance, training and development, resource management and business development, Brian has a track record of successfully introducing and executing strategic business practices and systems that have resulted in improved efficiency, quality and client satisfaction. In recent years, Brian has consulted for National Credit Management Limited, Recoveries Corp, Collection House, Baycorp, the Australian Taxation Office, Commonwealth Bank, GE Money and the Australian National Audit Office.
Accounts Manager – Fionah Bonhote
Fionah was in Sales & Marketing and then ventured into administration becoming the Office Manager of a large manufacturing company for over 10 years. Fionah is an expert in the areas of exports, imports, payroll administration, financial reporting & office solutions Fionah is a registered BAS Agent with the ‘Tax Practitioner Board’, a member of the ‘Institute of Certified Bookkeepers’ and the ‘Australian Bookkeepers Association’ and currently holds a Cert IV in financial services (Bookkeeping).
Office Manager – Jodie Palmer
Jodie is an experience office manager and administrator, and has worked as a legal typist since 1987. She has an excellent knowledge of the industry and was employed by Urgent Summons Service (USS) for 16 years prior to its sale in 2003. Jodie then worked for Credit Corp for 18 months as a senior clerk before commencing with ALSS in 2005.
Paralegal and Justice of the Peace – Yvonne Thurston
Yvonne is an accomplished legal administrator, with more than 20 years in the industry. Yvonne has worked for ALSS since its inception in 2005 following a successful career with Urgent Summons Service. Throughout her career, Yvonne has been exposed to all operational and managerial facets of the business and has a detailed understanding of the industry.
Client Liaison/Field Services Co-ordinator – Lauren Roberts
Lauren joined ALSS in 2011, complementing our administration team with her experience in customer services and office management. An intelligent and articulate administrator, Lauren is responsible for preparing affidavits and field call reports, managing service updates from our agency network and assisting clients with their inquiries.
